Kimi Ni Todoke: From me to you (君に届け)

Posted in Manga on January 1, 2010 by Yukari

Translates into: Reaching you

OMG THIS WAS SOOO SWEET. TT0TT it makes me cry. I know it’s been turned into an anime (of course) OMG I’m seriously turning track, i’m so much into shoujo i forgot i liked shounen at first (Of course Naruto, you’ll always be number 1 in my heart) I’m gonna post this in ‘Manga’ as i originally read the manga. I haven’t started on the anime yet.

Any way, close to New Year’s 2010… it sounds so far away. AND IT’S SNOWING LIKE HELL. I mean seriously? Anyway this is the blog’s anniversary since i made it sometime last December… to lazy to make a new post.

Also Happy New Year to all of you.

Story and Art by: Karuho Shiina

Episodes: (according to Wikipedia, 24 but it’s ongoing)

Volumes: 9 (ongoing)

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Sawako Kuronuma, called Sadako by her classmates for her resemblance to the character from Ring, has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance. There are rumors that Sawako can see ghosts and curse people. But when her idol, popular boy Kazehaya, begins talking with her, everything changes. She finds herself in a new world, trying to make friends and talking to different people and she can’t thank Kazehaya enough for giving her these opportunities. Slowly, but surely, a sweet love is blossoming between the two as they will overtake any circumstance or clear obstacles in their way.

I thought this was very close to Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge as well, the girl is despised by the class. Well Sunako IS ACTUALLY SCARY, but Sadako isn’t.

Ahh Kazehaya would be my ideal guy (AFTER Envy of course ^^) but i think he’s wayy too nice.

I KNEW SHE WAS BAD I HATE HER GAH I HATE HER SOO MUCH (even though the sensible part of my mind tells me that it’s not her fault!) SHE’S FAT…!

Highlight to find out about her. I don’t wanna spoil it for you.

Happy New Year!

The Record of a Fallen Vampire (ヴァンパイア十字界)

Posted in Manga on August 22, 2009 by Yukari

This is a manga and i bought it two days ago. Well, i went to the bookstore hoping to find Fruits Basket Volume 4. I did find it and almost bought it but i saw this and it looked good (awesome art and…. oh VAMPIRES) so i decided to buy two volumes of it (i spend all my money on manga. I get my paycheck and it’s gone by the next week).

Oh My God, it turned out to be better than expected. The story-line is great and there was something new. Half-Human and Half-Vampire. That was totally new. So i am excited to be blogging it.

On a side note, Shugo Chara is almost finished. Now that we know that the Dumpty Key belonged to Tadase, it’s kinda obvious that there are no hopes for Amuto (T_T) Sad, i know. But GET OVER IT! I am tired of my friends and other fangirls coming crying to me and saying that there will be no Amuto ending to it. It’s seriously pissing me off. I mean, Ikuto is still an important person for Amu and Tadase is the main guy character. There is once-in-a-lifetime chance that a Shoujo anime will end with the main girl ending up with some other guy who’s the supporting character.

I just wanted to say that. Back to the topic

Artist: Yuri Kimura

Author: Kyo Shirodaira

Genre: Fantasy, Supernatural, Mystery

Volumes: 9

Having cast aside his Kingdom of the Night a thousand years ago, the vampire king Strauss wanders the lands in search of the place where his queen was sealed. Dogged by the dhampirs who are out to kill him, Strauss is fighting against time as he must continuously face humanity’s curse, the Black Swan.

Initially, the story focuses on introducing Strauss and his quest for the seal, the Black Swan, and the dhampirs. The main plot, which gradually emerges after volume two,[2] revolves around repelling an alien invasion. The humans plan to use Strauss’ powers and Adelheid’s powers to repel the invaders before having the Black Swan finally dispose of them.

Bridget, Strauss and Adelheid use flashbacks to convey their perspective on the events a thousand years ago. The writer, Kyo Shirodaira, indicates that this method of deriving different truths from the same set of facts was inspired by Christianna Brand‘s storytelling techniques.

The only thing that pissed me off was that Yuki, the 49th Black Swan was killed by Strauss. I don’t like Kayuki, the 50th Black Swan…. she’s crazy.

That’s Strauss, the Vampire King on the cover of Volume 1 and the main character of the story.

Another good thing about this manga was that the supporting characters were also given a lot of background. Almost as much as the main guy.

She’s the 50th Black Swan, Kayuki

I Looked so much for this picture..! My kawaii Yuki-chan!

JIN!!!!!! He’s so awesome!!!!!

Time Stranger Kyoko (時空異邦人)

Posted in Manga on August 20, 2009 by Yukari

Well, finally I’m doing a MANGA instead of anime. Not that this manga has an anime.

This… was so weird i couldn’t figure out the plot (I don’t mean it in a bad way) I figured out the plot soon…. but it was not my type, surprising, coming from one of my favorite artists

Genre: magical girl, romance, comedy

Author: Arina Tanemura

In the 30th Century, the planet is now united under one country called Earth. Princess Kyoko is protected by the last remaining members of theDragon clan: the princes Hizuki and his younger brother Sakataki. Kyoko has lived the life of a commoner, attending public school under the quiet protection of her two guardians, while avoiding being seen in public as the princess. As her 16th birthday approaches, the time when she will inherit the crown, her subjects are growing restless at her refusal to be seen. A gang comes to the school having heard a tip she was there, and begins harassing Kyoko’s friend Karen. Kyoko reveals her identity to protect both her friend and the school. Afterwards, she returns home to accept her fate, but her father offers her the chance to return to the life she prefers if she can awaken her twin sister, Ui. Ui, has been in acoma-like state since she was born and is said to be “trapped in time”. If she awakens, she would inherit the crown, and Kyoko would be free. Wanting to meet and speak with the sister she has never known, Kyoko agrees to undertake the quest.

To do this, Kyoko must find the Strangers, twelve telepaths who each hold a holy stone that enables their owners to use specific powers. Kyoko herself is the first, the Time Stranger, and the one destined to lead the others. She has the power to stop time and go back in time, and is given the “Scorpion Cane” which talks to her and aid Strangers. Her guardian Sakataki is revealed to be the Crystal Stranger, and they are able to quickly find the next ten strangers, all leaders of their clans and descendants of the Kirit clan. They are able to find the ten of the remaining strangers quickly, and along the way Kyoko comes to appreciate her position as a princess and decides she will continue to be one even after Ui awakens.

As the story progresses, Kyoko and Sakataki fall in love, though they do not reveal their feelings to one another. Kyoko plans to confess with the final stranger is found, but one night Hizuki kisses her in her sleep and confesses his own love for her. He is quickly arrested as his actions are taken as an attack on the princess. With Hizuki sentenced to death, to save his life Kyoko chooses him to be her husband and tells him that she loves him. He reveals to Sakataki that he did it on purpose to become her husband and that he is a demon Kirit and the one who destroyed the Dragon Clan. He gives Sakataki the only sword capable of killing him, then forces him into a duel wanting to die, but Kyoko stops it and yells at him. Sakataki also tells him he knew what Hizuki had done as a child, and that he still loved him. Satisfied, Hizuki reveals himself to be the last Stranger.

The ceremony is performed to awakened Ui, but her body vanishes and she awakens in Kyoko’s body. Kyoko awakens in another world where she meets Chronos, the god of time and her true father. He explains that as a child, Kyoko needed a human body to mature in quickly as he was dying, and the king agreed to allow him to use Ui’s body. In performing the ceremony, Kyoko returned Ui to her own body and Kyoko returned to being a god. She was forgotten by everyone, except the King, who cried at losing her. Kyoko accepts being this and agrees to fulfill her duties, but she cannot forget Sakataki and runs to where he is and confesses her love to him though he can not see or hear her. She kisses him goodbye and he briefly sees her before she goes. He finds a water strain in his pocket with a picture and note from her, which unlocks his memories. He runs to the clock to find her, but it was destroyed after Kyoko and Chronos returns to their own world. He gathers the other Strangers and helps them remember. They use their powers to open a rip in time, allowing Sakataki to go to where Kyoko is.

Realizing how much they love one another, Chronos allows Kyoko to return to the human world after absorbing some of her powers to enable himself to continue ruling. The king gives Kyoko the body of his late wife Kiku, who died giving birth to Ui and for whom Chronos had stopped time. She marries Sakataki and continues to live as a princess and as a sister to Ui.

Earl Cain (伯爵カインシリーズ)

Posted in Manga on April 6, 2009 by Yukari

Also known as Count Cain, is a gothic manga series written and illustrated by Kaori Yuki. Earl Cain consists of five parts or “Series”: Forgotten Juliet (忘れられたジュリエット Wasurerareta Jurietto?)The Sound of a Boy Hatching(少年の孵化する音 Shōnen no Fukasuru Oto?)Kafka (カフカ Kafuka?)The Seal of the Red Ram (赤い羊の刻印 Akai Hitsuji no Kokuin?), and the sequel series Godchild (ゴッド チャイルド Goddo Chairudo?).

Godchild is more popular and this series is AWESOME!

ok im in a REALLY bad mood. The last Shugo chara ep.? i hated it and i loved it. Hated it because now Amu hates Ikuto 😦

and i love it because Ikuto is really mean to Tadase.. 🙂

So I’m confused. And so, i decided to do one of my favorite manga.

Genre: Horror, Mystery

Set in 19th century England, Earl Cain focuses on Cain Hargreaves who is the son of Alexis Hargreaves and Alexis’s sister Augusta Hargreaves, conceived through incest. Augusta becomes insane after Cain’s birth and is sent to a mental institution, where she commits suicide. Alexis blames the twelve year old Cain for her death and abuses him daily. Despite this, Cain eventually trusts a butler named Riffwhich creates a special bond between them. Unable to cope with his father’s continuous abuse, Cain poisons Alexis who then leaps into the sea, rather than be killed by Cain. As a result of Alexis’s presumed death, Cain inherits the title of Earl. Five years later, Cain solves mysteries, during which he learns that he has a ten year old half sister named Mary Weather as well as an older half brother Jizabel Disraeli, adoctor who despises Cain. From Jizabel, Cain learns that Alexis had survived his presumed suicide and had taken over a secret society, renaming it Delilah. Later, Cain becomes engaged to an aristocrat named Emeline as part of an agreement for the Hargreaves family to officially adopt Mary Weather. However, Cain falls in love with a fortuneteller named Meridiana; when Cain sets out to dig up Meridiana’s supposed grave, Emeline follows him and is murdered by Jack the Ripper. Cain soon learns that Meridiana is a “doll” – a resurrected corpse surviving on the blood and fresh organs of others – created by Delilah. Although Jizabel, being a member of Delilah, promises to restore Meridiana’s life in exchange for Cain’s eyes, Meridiana kills herself, unable to justify sacrificing other people’s lives for her own. Heartbroken, Cain vows to stop his father and Delilah.

Cain continues to solve mysteries, periodically running into Jizabel and other members of Delilah. After encountering Delilah’s latest dollMikaila, created from a finger belonging to Cain’s deceased cousin Suzette, Cain becomes obsessed with destroying Delilah. He unmasks officials connected to Delilah, and learns Delilah is building a memorial temple surrounded by twelve angel statues. Meanwhile, despite Jizabel’s efforts to slow the awakening of Riff’s true personality, the hypnosis suppressing Riff’s cruel original personality is broken; Riff betrays Cain by first tampering with evidence and later he attempts to strangle Cain while telling Cain the truth about his false loyalty. When Riff joins Delilah, Cain becomes depressed and resolves to rescue Riff from Alexis.

Led by Cassian, a former member of Delilah, Cain reaches the tower within the memorial temple where Alexis plans to sacrifice the brainwashed people of London to bring back Augusta. In front of Cain and Cassian, Alexis reveals that Riff is a doll and will shortly die, which sparks an internal struggle between Riff’s personalities; Riff’s loyal personality returns before he and Cain are separated. Jizabel slits his own throat so Riff can use his blood to briefly remain alive and return to Cain. After ending Delilah’s plans to bring back Augusta, Cain poisons his father and as Alexis dies, he reveals through a Biblical metaphor that he had always loved his sons. The tower collapses and Cain is briefly reunited with Riff as the ceiling collapses on them. After Cain’s disappearance, Mary Weather becomes the new head of the Hargreaves; after possessing Alexis, Augusta seeks out Mary and reveals to her that she orchestrated the suffering of Alexis and his sons for her own amusement. Before she can kill Mary, Augusta triggers a trap in the mausoleum Cain built before leaving, and dies. Years later, Crehador, amedium who was close to Cain, sets up a tea party for Mary to find, fulfilling Cain’s promise to Mary, and he reminisces on his last memory of Cain together with Riff, covered in broken glass.

Ahh, really loved it. So many deaths and it was Gothic man GOTHIC! I’m not a goth but…. im addicted to this kind of stuff (you might already know that)

haha awesome manga. The food looks soo yummy!

The story follows Najika Kazami, an orphan and an excellent chef from Hokkaidō, and her arrival at Seika Academy, an escalator school. Not only does she plan to become a great chef like her deceased parents, but she also sets out to find her “Flan Prince”, a boy that saved her from falling into a river and gave her a cup of flan with a silver spoon with the school’s emblem on it. She promised him she would make the most delicious dessert in the world. However, as soon as she is placed into Class A, the special class, she has to deal with the constant insults of Akane Kishida and her group. Things become better, however, when she befriends Sora and Daichi Kitazawa, the school’s most popular brothers, and possible candidates for the status of her “Flan Prince”.

Spoiler: Daichi is the Flan prince though she falls in love with Sora at the beginning, because he fakes being the Prince. Sora’s plan was to use her and then throw her away, but then he really starts loving her. Then, Sora dies due to an accident, and Najika realizes her feeling for Daichi, and she confesses. Daichi rejects saying that his brother Sora loved Najika like no other.

Story and art by: Miyuki Kobayashi and Natsumi Ando

haha, she looks a bit like me but i don’t wear tiny skirts. Akane likes Daichi and hates najika because she is so close to him. But later, she becomes her friend. She is really skinny and wants to become a supermodel
